The inspiration for this illustration is a Taiwanese saying: 'The moon is rounder and better-looking abroad' (similar to 'the grass is always greener on the other side'). Now based in the UK, the moon has become a symbol of working hard through the night.
Pei-Fen Hsieh, aka turtlewithpen, grew up in Taipei. Originally, she studied law in Taiwan, and is now studying graphic design at Edinburgh College of Art (ECA). She uses a mixture of digital and hand drawn elements to create unique textures.
